A GLP-1 food diary that records what you actually eat

A meal photo shows what was served. Your diary should reflect what you actually ate. Start there, then check the ingredients and portion behind any calorie or protein estimate.

The short answer

Record the meal, actual portion, and any detail that changes the estimate, such as a sauce or a different product. Keep your nutrition targets separate from your medication plan. Ask a qualified professional about targets that fit your needs.

There is no single protein target for everyone

The joint GLP-1 nutrition advisory emphasizes individual nutritional assessment and support. A number used by another person, an app default, or a screenshot is not automatically your target.

This guide does not set a calorie deficit, protein amount, supplement plan, or list of foods you must avoid. Use the goals agreed with your healthcare professional and discuss concerns about intake with them.

An entry can be short and specific

Fictional food-entry example, not a meal plan
DetailWhat to record
MealYogurt with fruit; note the product and ingredients.
PortionThe amount actually eaten, not the whole container if some remained.
Estimate checkCorrect the portion and added ingredients before relying on a protein estimate.
QuestionWhat information would help my dietitian review my intake?

This is an example of recording, not a recommendation to eat that meal. Allergies, preferences and medical needs still matter.

Check the first estimate

If you use photo-based food logging in CalZen, review the recognized dish, ingredients and amount. A photo cannot reliably reveal every ingredient or how much remained after the meal. Correct the entry when you know more.

For packaged food, your product label can help you check the portion and nutrients. Keep “per serving” and “per package” distinct. Estimates in a diary are useful records, not a medical assessment.

Review completeness before judging a total

A low total may reflect a day with missing entries. Check whether you recorded snacks, drinks and the amount actually eaten before interpreting the number. Missing data should remain missing, not silently become zero.

Keep medication records and wellbeing notes separately dated. If eating or drinking is becoming difficult, or symptoms concern you, seek professional advice rather than trying to solve it by changing a tracker target.

Keep the diary with your other records

CalZen brings meals, protein estimates, weight and GLP-1 records into one app. You can review your own entries before an appointment and prepare questions, without claiming the app can identify why a symptom occurred.

The food diary does not change a prescription. A weekly menu, where purchased, is a separate product and should not be treated as a clinical diet prescribed for a medication.

Questions about this record

Can CalZen tell me how much protein I medically need?

An app target or nutrition estimate is not an individualized medical prescription. Discuss your needs with a qualified healthcare professional.

Should I log the whole plate if I only ate part?

Record the amount actually eaten. If you only have an estimate, keep that uncertainty in mind rather than treating the number as exact.
